The diesel generator set shown has a total weight of approximately 2 tons and an overall length of 3.4 meters. Structurally, the generator (power output side) is located on the left, while the diesel engine (power source) is on the right. These two parts are rigidly connected as one unit.

Option 1: Separate Isolation for Engine and Generator

In this configuration, the primary vibration source is the diesel engine, and the key objective is to reduce vibration transmission between the engine, generator, and supporting structure.
Since the engine and generator are mechanically connected, isolators with excessive height or large static deflection may negatively affect alignment and normal operation.

Therefore, for separate isolation of the engine and generator, low-profile rubber isolators with small compression deflection are recommended, such as Models 33, 34, and 35. These models provide effective vibration control while maintaining structural stability.

Option 2: Overall Isolation for the Entire Generator Set

When isolating the diesel generator set as a whole, isolators can be installed beneath the complete steel base or channel frame.
In this case, Models 17 and 19 rubber isolators are recommended to reduce vibration transmission from the entire unit to the foundation.

The selection of vibration isolators should also consider the installation environment:

• Installed on ground-level foundations:
  The ground itself provides good vibration absorption. In most cases, rubber isolators are sufficient.

• Installed on basement floors or building slabs:
  If vibration may affect nearby equipment or building structures, isolators with lower natural frequency, such as spring isolators, are recommended to achieve better low-frequency vibration isolation and prevent structural resonance.
